Peach PRC succeeded in putting on the sweetest show in town during her headline performance at Electric Brixton, London. Peach has been one to watch in the music scene for quite some time now, so to finally get our hands on the golden tickets for a live show felt like an impressive achievement. (we extend our apologies to everybody who discovered the show was taking place after it had concluded...)

You can always tell when an artist’s branding and fanbase are truly in sync, especially when the crowd outside the venue feels like an extension of the performance. Fans were wrapped around Electric Brixton before its doors opened, donning fairy wings, elf ears, and delicate butterfly accessories creating a magical sight of people genuinely excited to dress up for the evening and let their hair down. Their outfits, some complete with head-to-toe pink ensembles, were a nod to the queen of the 'pixie dream girl' aesthetic, Peach. This untold dress code created an immersion into Peach’s whimsical world.
Reflecting on how Peach’s music accompanied us during the recording of episode one of our radio show, long before Blonde Vibrations became the platform that it has developed into today, it felt genuinely thrilling to see her take the stage for this headline slot. When you have waited so long to hear somebody's music live, the moment of waiting for them to pop up onto the stage feels like a lifetime. The crowd felt unified in a sense of anxious anticipation before Peach began the set with 'Perfect For You'. It felt electric from this moment onwards, and she came on with a high level of energy that never dwindled. Transitioning straight into 'Blondes', a Blonde Vibrations anthem for obvious reasons, Peach's energy radiated through the audience, it was clear to see she was having the time of her life.
A lovely moment in the performance was 'Loved You Before', one of Peach's more love-focused songs, but can absolutely be reinterpreted as songs strongly about platonic love and soulmates in any form of the word. Paired with a minimal, sketched animation of the partners mentioned in the song, this was a real hard hitter for anyone with a soft spot for nostalgia and hope-core. Not to mention Peach's flawless vocals filling the room, but that was a consistence throughout the entire set.
Peach is open about her pre-music career life on her many candid social media platforms, and online, recently she relished in the fact that she had once been afraid of her previous work in a strip club becoming known when she began to gain notoriety online, but it is now something that her fanbase celebrates. As a result of Peach's now comfort in this part of her life, the audience was treated with a pole performance interlude before she performed her racy 'Like a Girl Does'. In a world where women are frequently told to oppress and hide their sexuality, this demonstration of unapologetic feminine, and queer, sexuality is such a healthy way to make progress with the internalised structures of shame placed upon this topic.

Peach took the audience on a journey through her eras as we danced to upbeat hyper-pop tracks, but also exposed us to the more vulnerable side of some of her releases, with tracks like 'Heavy' and 'Dear Inner Child' bringing some fans around us to tears. These songs are already packed with emotion, yet Peach brought about a whole new level of intensity and rawness to these feelings within the live performance. Her music reflects upon such vulnerable themes and experiences, and this was a beautiful way of allowing her listeners to connect with them, and with herself on a deeper level.
Even in such tender moments, she still joked about the irony of performing tracks with candid, personal lyrics in her full 'peach' stage outfit, consisting of her classic bubblegum pink wig and matching lingerie set. Being able to make the audience laugh and cry within the same setting showcases her capabilities as a performer. Peach builds herself as a warm and caring big sister to her audience who can guide them, while also being an escape from everyday life. Every person in that room left feeling like they had a new platonic bond to Peach, and solidified the sparkling personality that we see shine on her social media platforms.
Peach treated the audience to a rendition of Sabrina Carpenter's viral single 'Taste' to re-establish the upbeat atmosphere. It takes real talent to take a song and make it sound right at home within the rest of your discography, and Peach did just that. With switched pronouns and a whimsical flair to the performance, the crowd was hooked on this delicious Sapphic cover. As a theatrical performer, it was great to see Peach's gender-inverted demonstration of this song, and provided a really exciting new perspective to a song that we have all happily heard so much of recently.
Perfectly placed after this, Peach yells "Let's talk some shit about my exes!!!" and the Electric Brixton crowd expels excited cheers - one of the loudest crowds we have been in a while, a perfect concert-earplug advertising space. Then performs two of her critical songs of past lovers, 'F U Goodbye' and the iconic 'Josh' and suddenly the crowd turns into a rage room, in which each member of the audience screams, shouts and flips off the Josh of their life. A moment of apologies to our housemate's boyfriend, who shares a name with this toxic ex-boyfriend, who unfortunately was in our minds during this song for the sole relation of a name... In an interview with Tone Deaf in 2023, Peach says that 'F U Goodbye' was 'about reclaiming my power over one of the most damaging experiences of my life - and putting the blame where it belongs,' and it was incredibly apparent during these live tracks that the songs have the same power-gaining effect on her audience.
Finally setting foot into a Peach PRC show was incredibly overdue, and entirely worth the wait. Who else would end the set with a cover of 'Everytime We Touch' by Cascada? After cheering Peach back on stage, the crowd was then treated with an encore of Peach's new song, 'Time of my Life', which was joined by a fan project of fabric pink flags with the song's title and a butterfly. This final track forced the crowd to watch the experience without the presence of phones (as they couldn't see anything past the flags!), and to join together to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime artist. Much like a pixie, Peach is a rare sight so given the chance, we entirely recommend grabbing tickets for her next show, if you can.
